Watch polishing video. Have a look.
Found this video on buffing and polishing watch cases. This man is intense.
Looking a his jacket, it seems he is a teacher at the Lititz watch technicum in PA. A school Rolex put together to help train new watchmakers, as they were a dying breed. Very fascinating. By the look of some of these watches that I see up for sale, they were not trained by this school or this prof. http://youtu.be/YMuWrI-sCj8 |

Don't do this at home. U will send the watch flying across the room or worst in ur face. Great instructional video. Thanks again for sharing. 👍
I blame it on the autoconnect. |

You mean I shouldn't be using rocks and hitting the watch case with them? Perhaps this is why my watch polishing venture hasn't taken off...

That is one very informative video. I suspect many "professional" polishers could learn from it.

So, it seems that if done correctly then buffing damage off a case doesn't remove metal but just moves it.
If this is so then theoretically a perfectly executed buffing and polishing out of a case should return it to exactly what its starting point was when new. |
