Caseback help needed

Considering purchase of vintage submariner billed as minty and am wondering if the interior of this caseback has pitting indicative moisture problem or if this is acceptable- any comments greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Caseback is fine in terms of pitting, moister, etc. However, the circa engraving doesn't look good. Imo, it was added later at some point by an engraver. Again, my opinion

I am not 100% sure, but...

Looks like a poor casting, not pitting = fake replacement.
Print looks funny to me as well.

Case back dates were always stamped, as far as I know, and that one looks engraved.

Got a link to the ad, or more pics of the watch itself?

Am very interested in this watch; looks like what I have been searching for, but is casebook legit? Appreciate all input; seller has been very nice to communicate with.

It looks like it may have been cleaned a little too vigorously. Can we see it from a different angle. The ad doesnt have any caseback photos. Do you have photos of the case with the back removed also?

Requested a second photograph and I think it looks much better from this angle. Once again, TO BE CLEAR seller has been very forthright and with good communication- I have zero complaints about seller.

Pitting appears to be tear out from machining with a dull or chipped tool.

Not a deal breaker to me.

That angle looks better. The previous photo made the date stamp look like it was engraved!
Looks very nice. Michael is highly regarded on the forum too, nothing to be scared of here other than the price. Haggle away!!
