16014 and cal 1570

Hi all,
I´m after a datejust for my girlfriend and came across a nice 16014 white dial from 1979 Only thing that bothers me is that seller says the movement is a 1570 ?
Shouldn´t it have been a 3035 or is the 1570 okay ?
thakns in advance, any help really appreciated.

3035 only. Probably just ignorance on the part of the seller but make sure of what you are looking at. If he can't/won't provide pics with case back removed. move on.

As a rule it's always a good idea to see the case back removed to check for corrosion as well as the appearance of the movement.

thx, really appreciated.
If it were a 1601- 4, it would have a pia pan deal, which this one doesn´t have ?
Would a 1570 fit in a 16014 at all, Frankenwatch ?

Yes, 4 digit ref would have the pie pan dial. Putting a 1570 in a 16000 case wouldn't make much sense economically, too many empty 16XX cases around. There would be so many fitment problems it would not be a casual undertaking and if you see one it was most likely some hot dog watchmaker showing off. :)

The bracelet raises more questions. That's an antique clasp on a later D link bracelet. Was that discussed at all? Are the links aftermarket?

Too many questions about this one, find a decent seller you know and buy from them. May cost a bit more but you'll know exactly what you have.

A 1570 caliber movement can be fitted to a plastic quickset (16013/16014/16000/16030) case.. it is not the correct movement but it will fit inside... I also think that is an aftermarket bracelet with original clasp. Get this watch checked out as soon as it is received and get something on paper with the details.

Clasp is off an older band, the link section is likely aftermarket

Just received it today and upon my first attempt to try it on, the lug pin fell and the bracelet seems not to fit the lug holes. Anyone know where to get it checked in SFA as I´m there friday only .
Really appreciated.

The circumference may allow it but you'll never get the stem to exit the case properly without modifying the case...if at all.

I have seen it before without any sign of case modification... perhaps a modified stem?
