I wouldn't say I've ever gotten "out" of the hobby but my interest can sometimes rise and fall. One year I will be all about it and another watch fatigue will set in. Believe me, there are days when I think "I mean, I could probably just be happy with my Speedy Pro."
I think that's totally normal though. It also makes it all the more thrilling when I get back into the game. Usually it's for the best too - when I try on a watch and it really sings to me, the passion comes roaring back, and I know that type of visceral reaction means I will be happy about the purchase for a long time. Worth mentioning: The off times are a nice holiday for the wife too. Haha. |

I used to think my photography hobby was expensive until I got into watches. Thank goodness I am not a car guy. My wife tells me I should buy a nicer car though..

I like the idea of consolidating, although you may miss having a platinum PP now that you have one.

Amazing, I tried to find one for sale, the 488, and on 9 that I found the one with the most mileage was 7000 km but most of them were around 1500-3000, if you buy it I would expect to ride it a lot, I get that you won't ride it every day, but such low I wouldn't have expected, I think if I had such car I would spend my weekends driving and picking up girls, oh crap I am married

There is no place in the NE to run this beautiful car. So a Patek is for me!

Yeah that's what I saw, around 1500km. I think I would keep both cars, they are awesome, and keep the watches, not sure a Maclaren would add something, the SLS is awesome and the 488 also, ok I would add a Shelby to be honest if I was into cars, that would be a dream trio car for me there, love Shelbys

You guys are lucky that you can enjoy sports cars in this modern world.
Here is a mess....traffic, fines, speed limits etc.... Is worst having a nice sport cart than a comfy commuting one. I lost my licence for 35 kmh more than the speed limit... How can you deal with a supercar ? Girls and watches are just enough for me. Btw, beautiful Ferrari and Porsche!!!

Roads here in Scottsdale are fantastic. Minimal traffic. Great for driving.

I could understand adding a Bentley or Range Rover for long journeys with the family but I can't understand adding a McLaren.

I agree, or add a Shelby, now those are awesome cars and different enough from the 2 you have, while the Maclaren is too close IMO to what you have |

Keep the watches. Cars are awesome but in terms of value you just get smoked. I bought a Ferrari several years ago and its now worth about half. Keep the Ferrari and find a way to be happy with it. Also a Maclaren will get absolutely crushed when you drive it off the lot. They are like Aston's. If you are going the car route its like watches....there are two. Porsches and Ferrari. Just like Rolex & PP for watches. Good luck and a great prob to have!!!

Don't have the car bug, but over the last year I've gotten really comfortable with my collection, and a few months ago a watch of mine sold that had been on consignment for a while I put the funds to another hobby, fine wood working. I was thinking about getting another Patek, and although I still love watches, just felt excessive to get another watch and outfit a shop.
As an aside, tried leasing a sports car, absolutely hated it, Big Lexus SUV for me. |

Nice Singer. For me, cars > watches. Watches are such an adrenaline rush.... said no one ever.

Absolutely true. Dump the jewelry and get the ride.

Love my watches and variety is the spice of life but if I had to choose, I'd have a harder time parting with my cars. Probably has something to do with the fact that watch collecting is still a relatively new hobby for me.

Fun day at the local car show
And this is how I now roll in the garage: Adding a 5270r in the future to this would just be heaven on earth! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Would love to enjoy a sporty car, really had fun driving the Alfa 4C. But I live in Europe and the middle east now and it's a no-go. So watches it is. My other hobbies are photography and astronomy, both relatively low-maintenance. I also get the itch every few months to strip down to one or two watches, probably an explorer or 5711, but it never pans out. Maybe one day, but I'm enjoying the journey now...

Hydraulic failure not possible because there is a physical latch that the lift locks into. Every 8-10 inches there is a latch where the lift clips so if motor
