Laser Etched Crown on BLNR
Hi Everyone,
I just joined today and this is my first post. I am reaching out to BLNR owners out there about the LEC on the crystal. I have observed that among all my crowns, the LEC on my BLNR is the easiest to find. At 1 point I took a picture of my watch under sunlight (no tilt) and when I zoomed in on the picture, the LEC can be seen. I have never achieved that with any of my crowns whethere deliberate or not. As of the moment I have a Sub LV and a Sub ref 114060. I understand that with the green dial of my LV it will be harder to find the LEC however even when compared to the black dial 114060 it is still much easier to spot the LEC on my BLNR. I have also looked at both watches under a loupe in the same lighting conditons and found that the engraving on the BLNR seem more pronounced than the sub. You still have to look for it and under insilufficient lighting you won't be able to see it but it requires much less light and tilt to see compared to the others. I guess I am reaching out to fellow owners to confirm that this is normal to a BLNR. Has there been any changes in the way LEC's are engraved over the years? Does this have to do with the way light relects on a GMT Master dial? Below is the PIC of the LEC on both the BLNR and Sub. Would be great if you guys can chime in to confirm if it's all good. Appreciate your input everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm not aware of any differences in the LEC. Do you have reason to suspect the authenticity of the BLNR?

I've noticed this too on my new DeepSea. Looks like they are doing them differently from now on or on some.

I'd suggest that they have multiple machines that do the etching, and one was set "deeper" than the other.

No. I have no reason to doubt authenticity since I got the watch from a reputable seller Also, the LEC is not readily visible under any conditions as commonly seen in replicas. You still need to light to hit the glass on a particular angle. It's just that it does not require much of it as compared to my other crowns. I also took the time to take a picture in better detail and the LEC is perfect in shape and its size is consistent with the others. See below: I am for finding out if this case is the same to at least some BLNR's (or other models) out there though as I wouldn't want to be the odd man out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

From the photo it Looks like the LEC is picking up some of the blue from the bezel which would make it pop. Where as the black bezel really wouldn't reflect any color, so it wouldn't be as pronounced.

how did you manage to take pics? I can't even see mine without shining a flashlight pointing from the 12 o'clock position. if you worry about the authenticity, you should take it to an AD or RSC to confirm. my understanding is that fake rolex don't have LEC. so if you have it, you should be fine.

Its worthwhile mentioning that the pic of the LEC on the BLNR. was done with assistance of and Iphone flashlight pressed against the crystal and just natural sunlight on the sub.

For what ever it is worth LEC is hardly visible on my BLNR. You need to angle a strong light from various angles to capture it.
But like other posters above have already mentioned it might be different machines with slightly different setups that do the laser etching. |

You might wanna try pressing a led light on the crystal (1/2 inch away) on the upper part of the dial and you should be able to make it pop more clearly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
