Rolex on Everest

I knew it! It was a Rolex and not a Smiths on the summit!
OK, so maybe it was an actor....

Just watched the documentary "Beyond the Edge" about Hillary and Norgay reaching the top of Everest.
The in the reenactment, Hillary pulls back his sleeve to know the time they reached the summit. This was the shot of his watch...

Interesting that they would make a point of showing Hillary with a Rolex when I'm pretty sure it's generally accepted that he wore a Smiths and Norgay a Rolex, or am I mistaken?

Chaps

Sorry but the photo is meaningless. The discussion about the Rolex or the Smiths has been rolling on for decades and there appears to be no conclusive proof either way.

Showing a wrist shot in a reenactment proves nothing.

Regards

Mick
