OP here - I ended up not buying the watch bc of a certain miscommunication with regards to shipping. The real seller, AlexxxGil, is 100% thrustworthy & wired me my money back.

However, AG has made a thread on VRF a couple of months ago after discovering his email had been hacked, warning people to be careful. Since then, numerous scammers have used pictures of his old ads passing them off as their own. Luckily for us, AG has a very distinct way of photographing his watches, so they're easily ID'd. I noticed he's not an active seller on VRM anymore, he tends to prefer Instagram now.

My advice is to always run pics from ads through image search engines.

Yes great work.
$5000 for this watch seemed very suspect.
I think the guys over at VRF are also onto it.

Sorry to be completely thick - how do you do a reverse image search? Quite scary how convincing this could be if not wary. Well spotted Ahnets!

If you have Chrome, right click on the picture, and select "search the internet ..."

Go to google images in any browser and drag and drop the image into the search bar.
I think Firefox has a plugin called tinyeye which works too.
