Gap under bezel on sd 40

Just got a new sd. Was curious if common to have gap on 12 and 6 side under the the bezel where it looks a bit more raw. Thank you!

Looks normal to me. On subs from some angles you can see the spring-loaded bearing if you look closely in the right light. Remarkable feats of engineering. Enjoy!
