Best Way To Set Date on DD40 on short month

What's the best way to to set the date on a dd40 when we have a short month. For example in November we had 30 days. On Dec 1st my watch showed 31st as the date and the day showed Thursday.

I was changing the date in the afternoon. When I set with the quick date function to show the 1st, then it would not change correctly at midnight.

So I had to set the day forward to Wednesday. Then I turned the hands forward until the date and day both set to Thursday 1st and then I went past 12pm and set the time to current time which was 4pm.

Not sure if this is making sense...but is there a better/easier way to set the watch?

You did it right far as I can tell. The reason why the date didn't change at midnight before was because it was in the AM time setting and it needed to be advanced to the PM time setting. No worries. Enjoy and wear it in good health :)
