Buying my first AP

Hi everyone. I am about to buy my first AP for my wedding which is in June.

My two options are the Diver or the ROO Black Red / Vampire / Red Panda.

I am very confused. I know about the price difference but this will be once in a lifetime purchase for my wedding. Please do advice.
I do not really mind if the ROO black red is a much better watch and better looking than the diver. I need your opinions please. Thank u

This is a picture to compare. Thanks. I have till next week to decide. Any input is appreciated.

I have owned both references in the past. The rubber strap on the Diver is extremely comfortable. I also prefer the slightly thinner profile of the Diver bezel. What I didn't like was the knob on the upper left (to rotate the inner bezel/minute ring) frequently digging into my wrist whenever I bent my hand upward.

The chrono dial on the black/red roo is more interesting to look at. I also love the ceramic chrono pushers. The horned back strap took a while to work in so I ended up buying a rubber strap (it's the one with the 20mm width at buckle) for the roo which was way more comfortable.

If it will be your only AP for the foreseeable future, I would recommend the black/red roo.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for the reply! Yes. That is what I was thinking too. Any other recommendations? The reason I'm asking is that almost everyone in my are thinks that the diver looks better than the black red roo. I need assurance.

I never cared for the vampire given how I liked the original black themes without the red, and they should have kept it that way. But, in this picture it looks pretty damn good. I'd get the vampire and put a rubber strap on it when you want to be sporty.

The regular steel diver is so boring looking.

Obviously it all boils down to personal preference but my preference is the panda. I think that red adds a little pop and you can run a red rubber strap to switch it up.

personally, I would pick the diver as my first piece. for wedding, I would prefer the new diver 15710 with white dial. I think it's more classy. BTW, the picture you are showing is the old diver 15703. why not consider the new one with open caseback.

Thankss for the reply. Wow. The diver in white? I love black and kind of don't like white. It's either these two. Yes. I will get the new one. So which one of these two?

The good news is that both look good on your wrist. I have been considering the Diver for a while now - I like that it's the only Offshore that isn't a chrono (since I have a Daytona already). I like that it has the in-house 3120 movement as well. If prices were equal, I'd probably opt for the more-classic ROO Chronograph, now that I've added a Submariner Date recently.

Do you get where I'm headed here? What else do you have in your collection?

I'd get the "Elephant" before the Black / Red and add the Diver rubber strap. I do dig the white 15710, too! Just tried it on yet again last week.

Of the two, I'd go for the vampire - you should also try the 42mm Elephant - just got that one myself!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding and the great gift!

As a one and only I'd go for the Black/red, I like the ceramic pushers and crownguard, and the chrono is useful and more visually interesting. I thought I would prefer the elephant but side by side I liked this more to my surprise.

I prefer the Red/Black, nicer looking than the diver and more useful function (unless of course you do diving). Put a rubber strap or bracelet on it, gives it a new look as well.

If you plan on keeping forever maybe even look at a royal oak Chrono.

The majority spoke and I agree with all you gentlemen (Vampire/Black&Red)!!!!

Echoed from above:
1. Yes to red rubber strap on it
2. SS Diver is indeed boring

Isn't the crown for the timing bezel on the diver a screw down? Meaning it's a hassle to use and even then cannot be used in water?

I vote for the ROO Chrono in this case too. The diver is a cool watch and I plan on adding a white dial one to my collection, but I wouldn't have it as my only AP.

I would pick the diver but then I don't really like chronograph watches in general I prefer a cleaner dial. I've tried on the diver myself and it blew me away fantastic watch

Vampire! please. Good luck, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
I'm also in a dilemma between that and the ROO 42 Navy. Same generation.

Haven't you already answered the question yourself? Go with your gut ( ie what you like ) and in this case, the Red Panda. Better to buy a watch you really like than to save $$$ and compromise and end up with something you don't. Congrats on your wedding!

So which are you choosing? I can choose the Navy too. I actually like the navy, grey and the vampire. Lol

I like both. That's the problem. I like the cleaner dial of the diver and love the chrono on the blackred. It's driving me nuts.
