I was already thinking that yesterday, but not if it's a brown dial. I don't thing that would look quite right.

I think we were all hoping for a 44mm version of the 372, but it looks more like a base dial version of the 417. Still should be a nice watch, but more contemporary than the vintage looking 372. Definitely seems backward that the 390 is the SE and the 372 is not.

i really think a pvd or dlc case with the brown dial would be ideal. why do i say this? i relook at the new 2011 catalog and the PAM 386 does come with a similar brown dial and the PAM 390 gold hands would make it really stand out.

I get the 386 brown dial with brown case. I'm just not sure how the brown dial with PVD (gray) case would look. I'd have to see it.

I think the watch looks great!! I sold my PAM00232 earlier this year and have regretted it, getting my name down on one of these is perfect for me as it has a similar dial to the 232 but better size for me and has the locking crown guard which I love.

Can't wait for my phonecall!!!!

Here is a snap shot of the catalog pic showing the pig sub engraved on the back case (same pic on WUS and P.com).

Hi all,
as an newbie i have been reading here a bit. So hello everybody.
Does anybody have an idea when the 386 will be released and what the price will be? Like Lee i also think the brown and pvd/dlc will be an incredible combination. But it's a matter of taste off course.

No one knows exactly when the 386 will be out. It could be next month or it could be next summer. It tok them over 18 months to get the 339 out in any significant numbers. It will MSRP for $10,400 USD, not sure about EU pricing but I believe that list is around here somewhere.

tx jacksonian. If i read correctly it will not be a limited edition, so also no problem to buy probably. I just see the watch pop up in pic's from time to time. A few days ago on paneristi i saw it in someones collection. I don't understand how that can be if it's not available yet.
I have time :-)

Correct, 386 will be regular production. It may be hard to find for a while as they roll out slowly, so be patient. If you think you want one, it would be a good idea to go ahead and contact an AD and get on their list. If you've seen pics on Paneristi, they were from someone viewing the 2011 collection demo models at a boutique. Here's one I took when I saw the collection this spring at my AD.

the case does appear more black as compared to brownish tone. also the green lume on the dial and hands on the demo model are different as the cream lume on Panerai's pics.

Still think it does look great :-). Tx for the pic. I am gonna contact an AD to hear if they have a list.
The limited edition from the 390 in black is also incredible, but probably a lot more difficult to get and much more expensive. Is there a price known of it?

Not sure I understand you. The 390 is all polished stainless steel, not black. It's going to be less expensive at $4800 USD. Look back up to post #133 above to see the catalog pictures of it.

You are right. I mixed it up with the 385 that was under the 390. I thought the 385 was a more limited edition of the 390, but they are completely different. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It was that model that i meant. But only 75 will be too expensive for me...

I think it is pretty interesting that this forum, in this post, scooped everyone else (at least to my knowledge) on the 390. Good job, Anthony! I'm kicking myself for sitting around for 36 hours before getting my name on the USA boutique lists, when I read this post within an hour of it being posted.
