first rolex DJII

Decided on the DJII stick model for my first rolex but can't decide whether to go with the white or black dial. Is one more desirable than the other?

Love the DJII,my late father in law bought a TT Champagne/Diamond dial six months before he passed away, not the best combination as i thought it was a bit too car salesman for me. Love the stick dials with White/ivory/silver myself,a good choice. Try them on your wrist if you can, find an AD that has both and see which one lookes better on. The white is a bit more ledgible but to be truthfull both dials are nice.

Check out the blue stick dial as well. Wanted back, ended up with blue.

So I just went to the rolex boutique at the Century City mall. They have the new DJ II SS with stick dial in blue... I think that is my next watch :-) I asked for a price and barely gave me any discount so I think Im going to start shopping.

The black stick dial is probably the best.

Tried on the Blue dial in store and looked very nice.

I'm still looking around for my first Rolex. Congrats on your first.

I just purchased a DJII from DavidSW who I would recommend emailing if you are thinking of getting one, I went with the Black stick dial and truely love it the watch. I also think the black dial looks the best no matter what you are wearing.

With a white or silver dial, the sticks don't stand out as much as they do on the black face. But the black face is more predominant.
It's best if you try them on in person, it certainly helped me make up my mind.

Thanks. It is silver but changes color depending on the light.

Just bought my first- Datejust II.. Loving it. The size and now being able to get the smooth bezel was what made me decide on the II.

I picked up my first Rolex on Friday. As I already have a couple of diver watches, Omega Seamaster Pro (SS and gold) and a Longines Legend Diver, I decided to go with a DJII pictured above with the blue stick face and white gold bezel. The watch looks really nice.

I purchased the blue stick DJII. Love it. My second choice was the white/creme dial.

I like the smooth bezel - not bad. (Considering I have always like the fluted effect)
