Plexi for 5500
Dear all,
The plexi of my 5500 (c1967) was replaced to a new crystal during the service at RSC (with my permission at that time) last year. I now wish to replace it back to an acrylic plexi. I wonder what is the correct plexi I should source? I researched online and got some conflicting information. One post on this forum advised Tropic #11, yet other online information mentioned Tropic #12 (B25-12) or Tropic #13. Could any member give more advice please. Thanks in advance. |

Watching this close. I also want an old style dome acrylic. My service replacement is a flat top
I have "heard" that some Tropic 12s are dome and some are flats. I find that hard to believe and violates the basic rules of configuration control... |

From he 1969 Rolex R20 Rolex parts catalog:
The original crystal for the Airking 5500 was tropic 11, but later discontinued and replaced with tropic 12. They are basically the same crystals, just making sure it's the domed version you will be fine. I should have both if you looking for them. |
