Avalon Airshow (lots of pictures)

Went to Avalon Airshow today with James and his brother in law, Kent.
Overall had a very enjoyable day and took a few pictures with my Sigma 50-500mm and Nikon 14-24mm. Weather wasn't too well as there were showers all over the place.

F18?

Super Constellation

Dragging with a jet engine

F18?

DC-3

Very nice shots Kai, I flew into Avalon a couple of days before the airshow on a golf trip to Mornington. some of the planes were already there . The weather (as usual when I visit Melbourne) was probably the worst I have experienced.

Thanks guys.

Peter next time you get down to Melbourne, call ahead :-)

I've added some more.

A panoramic shot of the DC3:

C17 Globemaster III: This plane is HUGE!

Another FA18 Super Hornet shot:

Last, a snapshot taken by the camera phone on Saturday 14-March. That's what the weather was - a front of like 50km across like that...

Thanks for the lift to and from the air show, Kai! Here's a few shots that I took:

And a few more:

The crosswind that day was pretty strong - this airliner got a little sideways on landing:

Wow, some great shots. I esp. love the shot of the Connie and the close up of the p-51 cowling.

Thanks Kai , I'll do that, maybe able to come to your next GTG,
The last trip was a quick 3 day golf trip to the Mornington peninsula , 36 holes a day and not much time for anything else.
