The phases of watch collecting

Randomly found this image. I’m somewhere between 4 and 5. Do you agree with the phases? What phase are you in?

Seiko isn’t a start it’s a necessity. A Swatch or Casio is a Start!!!!!!

been through it all apparently. even flatlined once and have been brought back. First thing I did when I got out of the hospital was bought another rolex lmfao

and considering I was dead for a bit, I just restarted the cycle with a Rolex. So always fall up my friends

There’s more people that go straight from 1 to 11, not progress to any other “stage”. Based on that fact, I’d say this chart is BS

Number 10 should be "Back to Seiko".

Its a fun ride, I'm at about 4.5 now. You could find the right "one" early enough and not even hop on. Would that be any fun though?

I saw a similar chart to this but it started and ended with Seiko (if I recall).

Pretty funny. I didn't go the vintage route but am hovering between #8 and #9.

Probably go from there directly to #11.

Had Seiko early, IWC, Omega, Rolex, PP, satisfied, retired, lost interest in paying 4 or 5 figures for a watch, Seiko.

haha it's pretty cool. doesn't apply to me whatsoever but i like the idea of charting my madness.
i started at 3, then kind of bundled 1,2 and 4 together, with a little hint of 8.
don't see a 12 on there but that's how many watches i have now so that's where i'm at.

9 heading rapidly toward 10 but may have to circle around a few more times before landing at 10.
