Rolex 16610 Submariner with particle on dial.
I recently purchased a 2008 Submariner CPO from a well known AD. After about 6 months of daily wear it now has a white/grey speck attached to its dial. I assume it is either material from the lume or dial script. I have honestly never had this issue with any Rolex before or even lower quality watches. My question is the watch has a 2 year warranty on it, would this warrant a service. Although the flaw is visible, I can live with it unless it gets worst or could get into the movement. I am just afraid the AD would not fix this under warranty and think I am being to particular. I have bought four watches from this AD in the last 16 months. Any advice is appreciated.

Not sure if warranty would cover but that would drive me crazy.

I don't think it hurts to ask, you obviously have a relationship with the AD. I know it'd bother me as well.

It will take a watchmaker half an hour to fix that. I would have it done warranty or not, should not cost you a lot.

It looks like you also have a chip in the paint between the 8 & 9 second markers or hopefully it's just a reflection?

It would drive me nuts, I'd insist on a warranty repair. BTW is the bezel not lining up ?

Thank you for all the replies, it is truly driving me nuts. Especially that the particle has started to move on the dial. The Ad I bought it from has taken it back to fix free of charge. I honestly didn’t think they would repair as I purchased it used.

Not really a 'repair' the watch is opened, movement taken out, blow on the dial and inside the case with compressed air. Take a good look after casing, no visible spots? Close case, pressure test and back to customer.

Yeah for Rolex money, that's unacceptable, especially since you've got a good relationship with the AD. Hard to imagine them giving you a hard time about it

I don’t think your being to particular at all thats a very expensive watch from a very well know brand they should sort this out for you for free in my opinion.

I would have that fixed ASAP even if it was a Timex. I can deal with scratches on the case and bracelet. The spec on the dial would drive me bat crap crazy however.

A small particle accelerator can take care of that speck in no time.
