Owners Card
Hello All,
I’ve been trying to track down an Explorer 1 Mk2 214270 for some time, I’ve found one from a previous owner which is obviously not a problem. The previous owners name is on the owners card, should I be bothered by this? I know it’s always nice to have it blank but would or should let this be a deal breaker? The watch itself is about 12 months old and in excellent condition and everything’s been included. Your thoughts are much appreciated. Best regards |

You are asking a question that only you can answer. If you buy a used watch, it's going to have somebody else's name on the card. I personally don't give a crap about the name on the card, but some people do. You found a great watch; you don't wear the warranty card.

The warranty goes with the watch not the owner of the watch
You should be totally fine with a card in someone else’s name

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think once you send in the watch for it’s first servicing in say 10 years, Rolex will issue a new short term warranty and you may get a new card in your name?
Maybe someone who has done this can chime in and provide some insight. |

If you want a warranty card with you name on it, buy a new Explorer from an AD. The warranty goes with the watch, not the first owner! Some warranties are conditional, reducing in length of coverage when the first owner sells. Rolex do not operate this policy.

The name on the card does not matter to me. It is the watch and warranty, if the watch still has any.

Well said.
Worry none about it, enjoy the watch.

Never understood why people would be bothered by another name on the card.

I honestly could care less about warranty cards and boxes. While I have the majority of mine - it’s never a deal breaker. It’s all about the seller and the provenance of the watch.

We, as collectors, all have our own wants. No one else has to understand or agree.
That is what makes collecting fun for each individual. |

I wouldn't worry about the name on the card. As others have said, it doesn't affect the validity of the warranty and (if you're like me) you'll rarely be looking at the card anyway. While I like to have the card, the name on it doesn't matter to me.

Yeah, but buying a used watch and worrying about someone else’s name on the card is like being the second boyfriend/husband and expecting your new girlfriend/wife to be a virgin. It would be nice but you have to accept its just one of those things Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
