Wasn't that discoed when the 11-03 dropped? I though I recall the last edition 11-02 a year or two back.

I don't dislike it but I prefer the 11 -03. In fact I almost bought a RM 11-02 few years ago from an AD but the deal fell through as I wanted a big discount (on the advice of now banned "RM expert" Paul) Those days getting big discounts was possible and pre-owned pieces were selling approximately 50 - 60% of MSRP.

Who is taking orders, boutiques or retailers?

Both are taking orders... just not on the 11-03

Thanks for the heads up on the discount

RM 11 -02 is not a bad watch at all, going to contact an AD/boutique tomorrow.

At the current market I'm not expecting any discount on the RMs, even VC and Breguet are tightening discounts.

Some RM AD’s also have AP licenses.... there’s a possibility to fold in an AP if u go that route. Just in case..I buy a 160k watch and demand an openworks. :)

Owen and Robinson in Leeds is also an AP AD and it was from them I tried to buy a RM 11 -02 few years ago. I have just checked their website and RM no longer appears on their website but RM web site states they are an AD, not sure what is going on there.

15407 is boutique exclusive and I got 15407ST coming end of the year.

O&R still sell RM until the end of this year but they have lost the dealership.

That means no boutique/AD apart from their Mount Street boutique. I think AP will follow the same.

Maybe but AP are pretty tight with O&R right now. AP in London treat their customers so well but I’m lucky because O&R is very local for me and I also get great customer service from them too.

They are opening the new AP House in a couple of months, sounds like it is going to be as cool as the Asian ones, I told them make sure they have complimentary cocktails for all visitors. I can't remember where she said the exact location is, I think it's still around Bond St, do you know?

If you like the Summer AP check out the RG Pride of Germany too, limited to 30 pieces, so a good investment too.

I think the carbon (or whatever it is) ones are pretty cool and I wanted one for a little. That being said, the RMs I’d want are too hard to get, the watchmaking isn’t there for the money when you compare it to almost anything else, and they are insanely flashy. The thing that really ended it for me is the prospect of these being Frank Mueller part 2. They’re certainly trendy right now, but I think the prices being strong are a condition of supply manipulation (I don’t think the demand is that deep) and a superheated economy. When either one of those changes, I doubt that these will have much staying power, and I’ve already talked to a few collectors who have been majorly turned-off by RM in the past 2 years for the same reasons I previously specified. Additionally, I would be shocked if other brands didn’t start copying this model (exotic materials, lightweight construction) soon, and actually, some are already getting there. The AP RO Concept is essentially AP’s version of a RM but with much better watchmaking and a more powerful/established brand standing behind it.

I was lucky enough to meet Richard Mille a few years ago and was genuinely impressed by his vision and how approachable he was. Admittedly, his watches are way overpriced, but so are Rolex, PP and so many other brands and pieces of art...!

I wore a RM011 Felipe Massa for two days (what happens when you tell someone from the Middle East you like his watch) and loved everything about it: the weight, the strap, the feeling of wearing a fairly exclusive and still relatively understated piece of horology. At this stage, I would rather have a few cheaper pieces in my collection, but if I could I would definitely go for a RM011-FM Le Mans Flyback Chronograph Titanium and Rose Gold.

No it’s not that, APUK offer a very personal service that truly sets them apart. They just want to know their customers, their interests, current watches etc. It’s all very relaxed and if you’re lucky you’ll get to enjoy a nice bottle of champagne while you chat. If you’ve been invited in then that’s positive.

The 11-02 is still in production and will remain in production. Truthfully, they are easy for get at retail. You’d be able to call around to the boutiques and likely find one in stock. Before this hype the were available at a huge discount. That’s no longer the case.

I think starting with a RM30 is a great idea. It’s not as tall/clunky as the 11 series and is very comfortable. It’s also not a piece that you’d lose on if you want to get out.

My other suggestion is the 67 series. The 67-02s are tough depending on color, but a 67ti or 67rg won’t be more than a few month wait if at all. They are both sporty and dressy with a super low profile. I’ve personally really migrated in this direction. The 11s seem gigantic after wearing a 67.

Whatever you decide, Id encourage you to give the brand a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
