Panerai 270

Hello, I never see or read anything on the 270. Looking for opinions on the watch whether good or bad. Thanks

Great watch - pretty much everything you want/need in a Luminor 1950 case (assuming you want an auto - if not, look at the 233)

Is the 270 the same as the 233 but with GMT?

No, there are several differences including (but not limited to):

233 is 8 day manual wind, 270 is 10 day automatic

Both have the GMT function with day/night indicator (older 233's had a 'dot' indicator)

270 case is much thicker/taller than the 233 - an important consideration for the wearer's comfort

The dials are different - 233 just has '12' and '6', 270 has '12', '6' and '9'

Have had both. 270 feels bigger (slightly thicker), but the 233 is my pick.

Awesome pics. I have other watches but I really like the 270. Only problem is the band. It feels to small. Do you also find that problem?

I find the same with some of the OEM straps. But this is part of the fun of Panerai ownership - the multitude of fantastic straps available from many great makers.

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer (aka Panerai made it)
COSC = Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (means they tested it for time keeping by independent Swiss group), but 270 is COSC.

They make larger OEM straps also if you want all OEM, or you can go aftermarket on the straps. Really easy to change them on the 270 b/c of quick strap change system.

I have several issues with the 270 and yes I own one but no I have never worn it. The first is I like my 233 and 289 better. The dial is less cluttered and the numbers are larger. Second the 270's curve of the crystal is right over the numbers which distorts the view and drives me nuts. The third is the thickness is more than 233 or 289. Fourth I have a 368 which is 47mm and seems to work better in regards to the crystal and thickness.

I was in the market for a 321, but a 270 came up at the right price and I just couldn't resist. I actually love the fact that it's slightly thicker then most. I did not find this uncomfortable at all! My one and only Panerai and I feel like I can move onto another brand. Damn watch addiction, my wrist loves it, my wallet doesn't!
