Omega Bracelet Stretch

Hello,

I posted another thread on my new Seamaster yesterday

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=692778

I was hoping to ask for thoughts on the bracelet on my watch. I’ve typically bought brand new pieces with oyster bracelets so I’ve not had much experience with older bracelets and associated wear.

Whilst my new Seamaster is a mint example, including the condition/finish on the bracelet, I appreciate its a watch that’s 17 years old.

Am I right in thinking the stretch on the bracelet on this Seamaster is not significant?

Photos from each side, below.

Thank you

That seems like a bracelet in like-new condition, in my opinion.

Omega bracelets can indeed stretch, but it usually due to pins and collars wear.

Unlike what you would see in a 4 or 5 digit Rolex that has hollow bracelet links where the metal will stretch, Omega links of this era were already solid.

I have probably owned 40+ Seamasters and Speedmasters with the pin and collar bracelets over the last 25 years, and what I see here in your pics looks as new. There was always a little flex.

My current 2254, gently worn and near mint, looks exactly the same.

No issue. Its actually looks new for its age. The key to any bracelet is to wash often to remove any dirt and oil that attracts dirt. I wash the watch I was wearing daily with a pump of Dawn dish soap and water. Not only does your watch always sparkle but it also almost completely eliminates any bracelet wear.
