JLC Polaris Perpetual Calendar

So I know JLC does not get a huge amount of love on TRF, but I think this release is utterly spectacular:

https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/gb-...etual-calendar

The only thing stopping me ordering one is the knowledge that it will probably be worth half I paid for it by the time I get home?! I don't buy watches as an investment, but I do enjoy feeling that I can get out of them without too much of a haircut!

I hope JLC start to build more brand equity because I love much of what they do. Anyone else think this is a stunner?

I think its cool. But I'm not sure it's cool enough to pull the trigger. As you say, you will be able to get it in a year (or less) at a discount.

Totally agree with you on the JLC love. They should get way more than they do.

I love it, it’s a great looking watch. The $29,600 price tag is going to put it out of running for me though. Compared to the rest of the Polaris line, that’s priced way too high.

I like this too, but, as someone said, wait a year and get a discount.

I don't mind the price actually if the finishing is up to par. Would JLC finish these to a higher level?

Definitely do not like the orange markers. Rest of watch is great.

From looking at pictures of the movement, i don’t think so. Seems to be the same ol industrial machine finish. This is really my biggest complaint about modern day JLC - you cannot ask 30k+ for any watch, regardless of complications and not at least have some level of hand finish.

asking price is too high for what is essentially a basic movement with a perp module stacked on top

Totally agree OP. Stunning and relatively great value (if you have that money to spend on a watch).

Icon20 JLC Polaris Perpetual Calendar

Have the sky dweller, which is an awesome watch but have to say the new JLC perpetual calendar is a must have. Hope Rolex will produce a modern perpetual calendar one day.

I love it and would like to see it in the metal. Could be something I rearrange my collection for

Like it but do not like the orange triangle at 12 o’clock.

Price looks about right to me. I think it’s their best novelty this year. Can’t wait to see it in person.

I'm loving this currently and have asked my AD to have a play. Big disappointment is the movement. Too small for the 42mm case and just looks like a dated architecture compared to the amazing in house movements from Blancpain, Vacheron, and even their junior stablemate IWC. Will have to see it in person but the pics look epic and a great size for a sports watch.

I really like it. Kind of wish it had a black dial, could be a perfect all-rounder
