Is this Submariner correct?

The cyclops on this Submariner just does not look right to me. Not sure if the magnification just looks wrong, or if it’s the bubbles in the adhesive or what looks like overspray all around it, but it just looks off. It’s possible that I have no clue, or it's simply a replacement, or that there is more wrong with the watch than I can tell. What do others think?

What’s the context of this picture. A lot looks really weird with that watch.

Where did you get it?
Who is it?
Why are you asking?
Or, is it just a picture off the internet that you are interested in?

Its a hybrid. 16610 bezel, 5513 case with ground crown guards, submarine window date magnifier, 5512 dial, need I go on?

Not sure answers to any of those questions are required to evaluate the watch in its own right, but it’s a watch from a WRUW post in a group that is full of serious watch enthusiasts and I was curious. When I am curious about anything Rolex, I naturally come here to ask.

I’m not buying, and it’s not for sale anyway as far as I know, but for the record dials and hands don’t always change at the same rate.

Thanks, that explains a lot. Feel free to go on if you have more to add.

Looks like an early 1980's 16800?

Hands appear to be replacement as the lume doesn't match the dial, and the crown guards seem to be smaller than I'd expect them to be. Do you have any other information about the watch?

Looks like a matte dial 16800, with a bit of overpolishing. May not be a service hands as sometimes they patina at different rate.

I think there was confusion as to if this was just a curiosity thing or if you were looking to buy it. That’s all.

Nope, afraid not. Just after opinions on what people see.

Font on that date seems like ripped off from the newer omega seamasters

The hands look weird along with the date magnification.

I can't make a call beyond that.

I’m still deciding if it’s the Rolex from Mad Max, Road Warrior or Fury Road?

It's 7:55pm and today is the 15th, not 16th, so no, it's not correct. One day and three minutes and I can make the joke that it IS correct.

I think this is a great example of a ‘Frankenwatch’.
