The Explorer will go to 41mm with a new movement and be a fantastic watch, I want one already.

The Explorer II will get the new movement, and probably some other relatively insignificant change that will polarize the Rolex world. The new model will be effectively unobtainable from the AD and command a huge secondary market premium in the name of progress. The old one will shoot up in value in the name of tradition. We'll argue over minutiae for weeks. 99.5% of the people you pass won't even know it's a Rolex, let alone and Explorer II, definitely not an updated Explorer II.

Well said! And very true, on all accounts!

If there are nice trolls over there in Rolex, they should introduce a sub with Tiffany blue or even better a coral dial to see whether the hype can be ridiculous enough.

I agree they will change it. If you want it have your email ready to send to your AD, and follow up with a phone call when the store opens, to get high on the list. For me unless if drastically changes, with similarities to a sub or Gmt, I don’t think I will move on it, but we shall see.

What does it really matter, we won’t be able to get them at retail…

Any more 2021 Releases??

I know AP did a few releases so far in 2021, but does anyone know if Rolex will have any more new releases this year??

Not that it will matter, since you can't obtain any of the current releases at an AD.

I think Rolex is pretty strict in terms of doing only a single batch of releases each year, no? Last year's were late for obvious reasons, but still a single batch.

And, while you are correct, that none would be obtainable, at least they might reduce the pressure on current models people want, as they gravitate towards what's "new" and let the rest of us at the "old stuff" we've been after.
