I understand what you are saying and respect your opinion on it. Personally though, I tend to think that what makes a watch a “tool watch” is how you use it.

Don’t like it. But I don’t have to, you do and that’s all that matters.

I’m glad you are enjoying your watch. For me, that particular watch belongs on its metal bracelet.

Do t let these haters worry you, I get both sides. It’s a great looking watch on the bracelet and also on leather.

I like the irony of wearing an immortal wat h head on basic leather, it out lived the bracelet so to speak.

I’d love to get a proper rolex alligator band and use my clasp or buy a complete set. Let me know where to look! This is a bad and Loakes, the buckle is definitely off. I do think it would look good with the SEL.

Went through this with the my Tudor Heritage Black Bay. Leather, NATOs; some good looks but I decided that a watch of this caliber deserves a classic SS bracelet.

I may get flamed but I'm thinking this is the GMT that should have been offered on an jubilee vs. oyster. Would love to see how that combo would look.

Agreed. I think it would look amazing with the jubilee...

I was all set to respond with the suggestion of a glossy brown alligator strap, and then I ran into my own post suggesting that and realized how old this thread is.

I have officially discovered which Rolex does not look good in straps, ironically it's the one watch that has lots of brown in it.
Sorry to say but none of those straps look good on this watch, especially the old beat up ones. Bracelet only for me.

The bracelet on the CHNR is what 'makes the watch'. I wouldn't want to ever wear it with a strap

I’m also exploring alternative styles. Here’s a blro on a denim strap.

GMT Master II 126711CHNR on a leather strap

I have seen it on black nato and it looks great, this strap is too distressed for the modern look, it does not look bad but not the best look

I think keeping the Oyster TT Bracelet on is the best option. Granted there may be times when you worry about scratches to the bracelets for a certain activity, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it

I like this one the most, especially the way the leather strap is integrated to the solid end links. Very similar to the precious metal Daytonas on leather before the oysterflex band was introduced in the current models.

Think the Everest leather bands with integrated ss endlinks are nice, but perhaps am biased:
