I agree and was my first time in 25+ years paying a premium for a piece, but after I did my research and really looked into it, it seemed worth it. Just looking at the older 39mm 15305 prices still being very strong ( approx $10k less than the 15407) I thought the 41mm would really be the king of this openworked series. All the boutiques were pretty universal in sharing their allocation wich was capped at 6 pieces per year with several estimating 2-3 based on past years. Knowing most waiting lists are 50-100 names deep makes even the 3-4 year wait seem like a fairytale.

I was fortunate because i was looking to buy a 15305 and then the 15407 was announced and a friend who had been to a boutique told me they were getting 5 so i called and got the last one. They required a 33% deposit and I had to wait about 3 or 4 months but clearly worth it.

I guess it just means you need to pick one up from a grey dealer now. Haha. I’ve been contemplating for a while now, and I just continue watching the cost creep up.

I was lucky, too...just didn’t feel as lucky having to put down 100%. Waited just shy of 4 months.

LOL. They don't seem to be letting up anytime soon. My friend just picked one up in NYC for $79k, they knocked a whole $1k off their asking. I'd think if one was on a list, you'd literally have to forget about it to make it tolerable. I know for me, I have no clue what I'll want or have sold in 3-4 years and I'd be fooling myself to think I could wait even half that time.

Obviously a fantastic watch, but the secondary premium is totally ridiculous.
