Rolex Accuracy

I have a question about the accuracy of a brand new Rolex GMT. If you fully wind the watch and check it after 24 hours with no wear time should it be running + or - 2 sec? Or would 3 to 4 seconds be fine? Thanks

I'm a new member too, and I've seen this in a lot of threads. It's fine. From the posts I've seen from the other members the +2/-2 thing is in a sterile environment in a lab. Lots of different factors and variables attribute to the watch being fast or slow. And one member said there's 86,400 seconds in a day lol don't worry so much about it.

How you lay down the watch makes a difference.
Some positions make it run faster, other slower.

Timing by factory is an average of many (6? 8?) different positions over 24hr period.

When it's flat the balance pivots have the least friction and gravity has the least possible (negative) effect on the hairspring, thus making it more accurate.

~1.5 sec fast per day on mine and it is very consistent from day to day and its on my wrist virtually 24/7, and with good stable measurements on my clock tuner app. Green tag should be within +-2 / day in normal use in my opinion.

I’ve had my gmt just over a year now and it wasn’t until it was about 3-4 months old before it settled and started being accurate. Now it’s +4 secs a month

I've had my 14060M from 2010 that hasn't been serviced and it still runs within COSC specs when I measure the accuracy using the Toolwatch app.

I have seen a lot of threads on this and the consensus is if it runs fast but not more than +6-8 seconds per 24 hours, the watch is fine until its next servicing. My BLNR runs +1 per week if I wear it and lay it dial side down when I sleep. If I lay it dial side down and don't wear it, it runs +1 every 48 hours. If I lay it dial side up, it runs -1 every 24 hours. My Daytona runs fast in all positions, but no more than +3 or 4 per 24 hours.

Exactly......over the years I have learnt that it's best not to get too concerned about total precision accuracy with Rolex and I have just got on with enjoying wearing them.

I have had two Rolex's, and they have been really accurate. Love them.
