Excellent timekeeping

So I’ve just checked the timing of my 3 watches over an entire week.

My 3 watches are :

Apr 2000 GMT2 Pepsi
Dec 2014 GMT2 BLNR
Nov 2017 Deepsea James Cameron

Over a week of rotational wear, the results are ;

Pepsi +9 seconds
BLNR +\- 0 seconds
Deepsea +7 seconds

I am amazed at that accuracy over a week, with the worst at +1.29 seconds a day.

Impressive stuff!!

Thanks!!
I’m not sure how scientific the test was and it may differ on another week, but happy with the results!

The BLNR is the real surprise as I’m sure over the odd day I’ve checked it in the past it’s gain a few seconds, but over the week seems to be the way to do it.

I’ll check it again after a month if I can keep them all running

Did you have them on a winder when not worn or just laying? Same position? I find I can “self regulate” to ~0.1 spd on my Yacht-Master by laying it crown down at night (loses ~1.1 spd overnight and gains ~1.2 spd when worn).

Good memory, yes I had a 16610LV....absolutely mint full set that I bought brand new.

Sadly I sold it in persuit of a Daytona that I didn’t bond with. I loved that Watch, and it’s the Watch I got married wearing. Big mistake selling it.

My BLNR (June 2017) performs like its super hero namesake, just like yours. I’m not ocd about accuracy but for fun I checked. In 36 days it was three seconds fast (.08 secs per day). That seems impossible to me...I was so excited I sent a note to my AD who said the BLNRs have a reputation for this sort of accuracy.

It stuns me about this amazing machine work of art. My 17 year-old YM tracks same as your Pepsi (also 17 years old : ).

These rolexes are so amazing. Beautiful. Bullet-proof. Reliable. Amazingly accurate.

Nairn, I remember you mentioned your pepsi was beyond the COSC (-4 to +6 spd) requirement and you were not very happy about it. Now it seems to get improved. Congrats!

Such a tough one.
If I had to move one on I’d truly struggle to choose, as I love all 3.

If I could only keep one it would be one of the GMTs, and probably as the ultimate daily wearer, the Pepsi would take that award.

However to pick a favourite I’d really struggle.

Is there any truth in the notion that depending on how you lay the watch at night it can gain or lose time? I just wanted to know because if a watch is on a rubber strap it's impossible to keep it on its back with the dial faced up....

In my experience, yes, there is some truth to this. Just takes a little trial and error to figure it out. I suppose all watches are different but I generally find my watches gain time when dial up, lose time when placed crown down.

Yup, the "superlative chronometer certified" is impressive. Always experienced this with Rolex in past 2 decades. GMT, Sea Dweller, Daytona, Explorer 2, they all do exceptionally. They are consistent and stable no matter the usage style. Very capable indeed.

I had a Bell&Ross Space 3 when they first came out. I got an out of the box DUD! They scratched the caseback trying to repair it, then it still was not reliable. Never went for Bell&Ross since....
