Day Date platinum at Costco?

Just spotted this platinum DD at a Costco in Redwood City, CA. Beautiful watch! Not sure if that's a good price or not?

They are Grey, so they sell anything they get their hands on.

Good lord, that is an amazing price.

I was at my AD last week trying on a few things, browsing, GMT, Air King, Sub, SkyDweller, etc. But the most amazing thing that went on my wrist, temporarily, was a platinum Day Date Ref 228206, Ice Blue dial with diamond markers. The President bracelet was like liquid metal, so comfortable. And the weight? Un.Believable. The density was unreal. There was no way I could wear such a watch for a day even if I could afford it. But, dayam! Without a doubt, this is THE watch for kings and magnates.

You can get that price at an AD. 36mm DD have really slowed now that DD 40mm are out. I would not touch a 36mm DD at, really, any price unless you will keep it forever. Rolex should have upgraded the 36mm to the 40mm specs but they did not.

From the picture it looks like the 36 mm. Price is ok. I would look in the pre-owned market and save 12K more. Nice find.

Saddens me to see Fine watches at big box stores. Why no love for the 36 DD - on the right wrist it can be spectacular.

The 36DD does not get the accolades it should at least not on this forum for the most part. However, the 36DD has stood the test of time and will be around for a long time.

Is that really a good price? I thought you could snag a 6 digit 36mm plat Day Date in the used market for like 25-30k?

For a retail outlet, it’s decent. Definitely a 36mm since the Romans on the dial do not appear to be deconstructed.

A search on this forum brings up an older FS listing of a NOS 118206 that went quickly - the advertised price was around $30k. Those finds are very few and far between however. A good buy if someone were looking for a white face.

If Rolex saw this post I bet they would have a FIT and be out for blood with their AD who sold this watch to a grey market dealer

I believe the retail on a 36 mm platinum day date is around 57,600. Most dealers will be able to give you 30 off on a precious metal piece like this which is about $40,000. So this one is a pretty good price.

It's a scam. Made of platium, not platinum.
