If I get another one in Ill do side by side shots.
ok, could be, i was comparing my Y serial to my M serial when i had it.

Yeah! The Y and the M should have the same thickness. P serial or older are about 1mm-2mm thinner. Ill confirm this when I get another P serial and older Sea Dweller.

That could just be from polishing? My lug hole 16660 from 1984 has the exact same profile as your pic and it has slight polishing on the tops of the lugs that likely account for what you're seeing...

It is just me or does the older one (with lug holes) look like it has a slightly beefier bezel or bezel teeth? (in the pic)

I've had mine for about 1.5 years. Z serial bought new and I'll never sell it. :) I've wanted one ever since i had my 6263 Daytona back in 84 and instead bought a 14060. And yes i should've kept the 6263 but we all make bad decisions. Hehe

Came across this M series beauty BNIB about a month ago, originally bought it undecided; was leaning towards keeping it stickered up and pristine, but made the mistake of keeping it round the house, where it quickly worked its wiles on me....end result: stickers are off watch, watch is on wrist where it belongs!
