Yeah, my real point is simply that Paul Newman wouldn't worry about scratching a watch. Heck, he gave it away like it was no big deal.

brushing pcls is not only possible but easy and feasabile.

I understand that feeling of OP. But for me it turned out that wearing and scratches make me happy.

I lost my PCL scratch virginity with BLNR. It feels alive when you just use it and see how your watch comes with you whatever you do.

As there was mentioned. Get yourself one Patek Philippe and your feelings of being cautious will double. It is like carrying Mona Lisa around :)

Enjoy the PCL's, it makes the whole watch looking beautiful.
This watch on a brushed bracelet or on a piece of rubber

I was the same way with my Milgauss and Batman. But after a few scuffs, you get over it and the rest are just fun ;)

It's just a watch. You should be wearing the watch not the other way around.

I’ve put my 116520 through the ringer, and it still looks great.

No one looks at your watch as closely as you do. On your wrist, not one will see any of the scratches or small dings that come with daily wear.

If it makes you happy, wear it. If it causes anxiety, I would sell it. Life is too short to cause yourself unhappiness over a watch.

Just my opinion. My platinum Daytona has many scratches, and I could care less. The watch makes me happy, that is what matters.

FYI, I owned a nice Porsche 911 and we did not have a garage, but rather a reserved parking space with a parking space on each side. Over a 2 year period I got so many dings and door dents that the anxiety was getting to me. Irrational, but there you go. So I sold it. And was much happier.

No one likes a scratch on anything new, especially a multi thousand dollar watch. But we buy them because we love them and want to enjoy them. Scratches can always be removed at service time, so forget about them and wear and enjoy and get all the pleasure out of your baby when it’s on your wrist.

wear and enjoy it, all rolex are robust enough to take a beating. Anything will show wear overtime, nothing is perfect in life or will remain brand new, wear that daytona just as much as your sub.

It's a valuable item so it makes sense to want to take care of it. I drive a car that some have never driven in the rain or will only drive on occasion to keep miles down. The shame of it, is that the car was meant for so much more. Yes, I've gotten scratches, door dings, road rash, etc. However, I got them using the car as intended and loving every minute of it. Same applies to your watch so enjoy it and remember that it was built to withstand far more than you'll ever put it through.

People used to think I was crazy strapping snowboards on top of my little Porsche and hauling up snowy mountain roads. I use my stuff.

If anyone is seriously scared to wear their watch, apart from in dodgy areas or when out on a stag night (bachelor party), then I see absolutely no point in keeping it.

If I was going out on a stage night (bachelor party) with a group of mates and knew that I would end up as pissed as a second hand mattress, then there's no way I'd wear a Rolex. It would be bad enough waking up upside down in a bush with my Alan's round my ankles but being in the same predicament with my Rolex missing would be quite the inconvenience.

Given time you’ll get over it. The bottom line is it’s just too nice not to wear and enjoy.

I’ve worn my Submariner to several bachelor parties. It’s insured. If not insured there’s NO WAY id wear anything of value to a bachelor party.

Watches are meant to be worn cars are meant to be driven
I wear my watches regardless of type or model. However, I wear plastic watches when playing games and those games are not play station games ;)

I had an SS Daytona and sympathise here, as I also couldn’t wear it much.
I was paranoid about scratching it and it just drove me crazy.

I ended up selling it.
