5712/1A Did I miss the opportunity ?

A friend of mine who is a good client was able to get me the 5712 -1A directly from PP official agent at $38k but I decline because the papers had to be on my friend’s name and I wanted my name on the certficate. Did I make a mistake ? Thanks

I wear the watch and not the papers . I would not mind. I’d get this one now , and wait for another one to come along from an AD to put my name on it .

Why does it matter whose name is on the certificate as long as it’s legitimate?

Missed the boat. I got my 5712 and 5990 with the kind help of fellow TRFers - papers could not be in my name, but I couldn't care one iota. As others have said, I wear the watch and not the papers.

Imagine if you purchased it with your friend's name and you flip it for a profit! At least you won't be the one penalized for flipping...

Unfortunately yes. Such watches are hard to find at retail. Having your name on the papers is nice but how much is it worth ( both waiting time and money)?

Were the papers the deal killer or did you really just not want the watch?

Yes you missed out on enjoying a watch you want. No big deal really, you can buy one right now online from many places. Look fwd to wrist shots in a few days when it arrives.

Ouch.....I'm hoping for your sake it's not too late...I personally couldn't care less if the warranty papers say it belongs to Johnny Rocket. The 5712a has become my favorite Nautilus after owning and comparing it side by side with my friend's 5711a......if my turn never comes in the 5711 I got no issues with that.
