“It was first reported in October that Jenner put her Beverly Hills home, which she owns with partner Travis Scott, up for sale for more than US$33 million. The couple bought the seven-bedroom, 10-bathroom property in 2018 for US$20.4 million.”

So Kylie Jenner, who is worth$600-700 million, makes $10.8 million on this sale instead of $12.6 million. Boo-freakin’-hoo. I agree that taxing the profit would have been a better option but I won’t be losing any sleep over this.

But that’s only a very small % of people. Let’s say I buy a multi family property for $7m and then rent isn’t paid because of local law and I’m going to sell the property at a $1m loss. I would still owe this BS tax.

Really businesses and residences above this amount are leaving or looking. Have lots of inside insight to this as well as nationally and internationally.

If that’s exaggerated, there are other accounts (like in Ian MacDonald’s ‘Revolution In The Head’) that it was above 90 per cent.

Not to hijack the thread but: sorry after all, George.

Yeah, you really have to understand what the UK was doing at that particular time at least my understanding was that it was completely ridiculous at that time. Many aren’t aware of that not only because it’s not their country but it’s been so long ago. Not to mention todays sentiment with regards to taxes.

Look, I'm not going to take it from you. I'm going to vote to give it to me.

It's not stealing when it's the law now.
