Posting Images On This Forum

Sorry if this has been covered before and perhaps this is addressed just to the supervisors/ moderators of the forum:

Many people have problems posting images on here, I am able to do it but only after a time consuming process to resize and reduce the quality.

Just wondering why it is like this and can anything be done about it ?

I am a member of the seikoforum and on there you can post any photos directly from your phone photo library without any changes and it just works.

I can see the software on here looks like Windows 95 so that could be the reason ?

Attaching photos is tedious. The other (better) option is that you can hyperlink them from an image hosting site without having to resize them and this avoid having them look like you took a picture with a potato.

Attaching photos here is basically useless unless it's some clipart or something.

If anyone can update the software also look at letting people use emojis off their phone

I think many don’t realize this isn’t Instagram. The limits are there and thousands of people use TapaTalk or an image hosting site that has no problem posting pictures.

believe Unicode emojis are supported.

Just a test:

See if those 3 emojis display on a desktop web browser and mobile device.

You say “the limits are there” that is the root of the question-why and can they be changed to make it easier to post an image. How many posts contain the words “struggling to post a photo”

Maybe if you opened your wallet and for a nominal fee became a pledge member, your pledge money may go to forum updates?

I gave up trying to post pictures here. You need to be a Fotomat employee to figure it out. I want to post quickly and not have to spend 15mins doing it. All the other forums I participate in are direct uploads from my phone.

They’ve been collecting pledge money for how many years now and still the outdated vbulletin format. Where are the funds going? Sure isn’t updates or policing the WTB section.

Pretty pathetic post from a non-contributing member of a few weeks.

The truth hurts sometimes.

The WTB is riddled with scammers and the forum software isn’t even supported by its developers anymore. Have you wondered why this place gets hacked every other year? Remember Feb 2021 when everything was wiped out for a weeks worth of data?

I’m curious how you remember that since you’ve only been a member since November of this year.

Possibly a previously banned member?

A long time lurker that (despite the issues they noticed) decided to join the forum?

Here’s the answer, who cares. You’re not obligated to pledge. The costs of running the servers and backend are all completely free to users if they chose not to pledge. So you get to use someone else’s playground for $0. I don’t think you’re going to see a lot of people upset if you chose to leave.

Is the forum how i would build it if it were mine? No. But it’s not mine and i don’t cover the costs. I think their are some areas where it could improve, but we are talking some pretty minor issues.

Again, it’s FREE. Most of the issues i see are using Tapatalk, not at all related to the forum.

So you can offer up the money to completely redesign the forum and pay for the backend design and server costs, or, sit in your toddler chair and complain silently to yourself. Door #3 is the option i hope you take, it’s leaving.
