Best of 2019 Basel, but would have preferred SS. Then again, with the price, you might actually get one.

Plus, for those ADs that require PM before Pepsi or Daytona SS, you could use this as your PM.

I'm a YM fan. I like what it means, what it's marketed as, the way it looks. especially the work done on the mirror polished case and stylish curved lugs. I like the super smooth bidirectional bezel.

The new ceramic bezel loses pop but retains the classic and unique raised and polished numerals and markers over a micro sandblasted recessed finish, beautiful. The hands proportions might be off (thinner minute hand, thicker hour hand) but that's not a deal breaker for me.

I like the rubber band look and let's not forget this is not just a rubber band, it's a solid titanium and nickel alloy bracelet wrapped in rubber. So durability should be much better than your after market rubber solutions. I love the new mini glidelock clasp. Yet I would have preferred a full gold bracelet.

I welcome the size. It looks like the dial has been proportionally increased instead of keeping the YM40 dial, so that's a plus.

White gold is not my first PM choice but no biggie.

I wouldn't pay sticker price for it. Perhaps pre-owned with a significant discount in a few years if it blows me away IRL.

I too would love SS and a SS bracelet. What's more I wish that "Yacht Master" was in red - I miss that.

Price aside, it looks like a great every day wearer. If it were ss it would be a big hit and the talk of Basel. It’s supposed to compete with an aquanaut and succeeds in that regard. Love that bezel!

I enjoyed seeing this watch in person yesterday. It is really nice and the mostly matte bezel is beautiful.

I love this, a little bauhaus so to speak, but it's the only piece I actually ordered. This has something special to it...the matte ceramic is badass as well.

Nice! Could you elaborate a little bit on your first impressions, did you like the dial, the heft of the piece, did it feel top heavy? What was your overall feel for it?

I like the new movement and the matte bezel, I am OK with the Oysterflex (mostly thanks to the Glidelock), but I hate the fully polished case and the super-maxi dial. And what happened to the painted seconds hand?
So, not a watch I would consider even if it came out in steel.

If it came out in steel, on OF it would be a massive hit. From the photos, it looks like it has a glossy dial which I am not a fan of. Overall nice watch, but not for me.

My first impression was a bit of shock with how small it was, I thought it would look bigger being 42mm. It has that white gold heft to it. Very polished looking, which plays well against the mostly matte bezel. I thought it was a cohesive and well thought out design in person. I’m a fan!

I prefer my 40mm rhodium dial YM. I even wish Rolex would go back to the 40mm Explorer II. I’m not thrilled with the matte bezel either, but would take it in a 40mm as an extremely sportier and less dressier version of the polished bezel YMs.

YM is a waterproof luxury watch. Don't we associate "yachts" with luxury? In that sense it makes no sense why an obvious luxury watch would ever be made in SS.

I prefer, by far, the 40 mm RG model mostly because of the colors but also the proportions of the hands and indices.

Remember although it looks like a simple rubber strap, the oysterflex is much more.

I would consider the 40mm on the secondary and consider custom leather straps when i'm not on my yacht. I think you can get some cool looks out of this.

The WG model isn't as interesting IMHO and it's a no-brainer to just go for an Oysterflex Daytona.

I would be interested to know whether purchasing a PM Yachtmaster would give some favor towards a precious SS professional...anyone have experiences here?

this year i doubt it. im not making it up when im saying its not going to be an easy get. In a year or two, if its just sitting there sure. Any high priced watch that the AD isn't selling will help to get a hot watch. Problem is, this is going to be a hot watch. At least for a while.

If a SS watch is 20K on the secondary market and you cant get it anyway, 27k for this isn't even that crazy

I love it except for the Oysterflex. Rubber bracelets just scream Casio to me and so I’m not a fan. It would have looked a lot more classy on leather.
I love easy to read dials, hence why I’m not a chrono fan and this has one of the most legible dials in the Rolex line up.
It’s too expensive for what I’d be prepared to pay, there’s other PM pieces I would go for before this, but on the secondary market in a few years time, or if released in SS, then I’d be in for sure. Can’t wait to see one in person.
