Well , I am on a list for 5990. Ad says soon. Just purchased my 5327. I have a 5711 white ,5167R,5135R and a 5120Calatrava J I will sell. How would the 5990 fit in? If I get tired of it could I resell on down the road? Just interested in opinions?thanks, james

It’s been perfect for holidays. The travel time perfect to switch zones and no issues snorkelling! Mine’s a daily and used as it should be. It’s worth the wait!

It will fit in great, but if it doesn’t the question is what do you sell / buy to fit in with the 5990. The 5990 is a keeper

Probably the 5167R might need to go if you’ve a versatile sports watch when the 5990 arrives. You may find that the 5711 doesn’t get so much wrist time either. The rest is a great mix. I’m considering a PC too for balance. Oh, and cheers Russ!

If you get bored you can flip it. If not you can eat it or bury in your back garden as you have mentioned before

Remember when it was launched internet people just kept bashing how bad this is not an original Nautilus. Now that nautilus is hot and everyone just wants one, yes including this 5990.

I love my 5990 by the way, two time function is very practical for people who travels a lot.

I had the opportunity to buy one from my AD last year but i declined being that i thought it would overall be nicer to stick with my 5164A. If offered again, ill probably take it because i can then compare the two to see which is ultimately better. Great watch but if you already own a nautilus (5711) i recommend trying for a 5164A and you may find it a bit easier to approach an AD looking for one & a reduced overall time waiting.

I think there was always going to be a backlash when Patek departed from the traditional Nautilus hinged case. I see it as an evolution of the design though, and for a watch as thick as the 5990 I prefer it. The case seems more harmonious imo, and it all seems better proportioned than the 5980 in terms of bezel, case and case back - the left pushers help with this.

The hingeless design wouldn’t work with the other Nautilus as you’d have nothing to replace the left hinge with, but for the 5990 it’s perfect.

I can't think of one Nautilus that hasn't been bashed on this forum, even on this PP sub-section, 5712 used to get it the most.

Hello James, i don't think you will have problem to resell it. The 5990 is the second choice for bigger wrist collector since the previous choice for thicker case 5980 already being discontinued. And it is beautiful watch.

Haha true buddy, you are here long enough and I can briefly recall people talked about its asymmetrical subdial layout and messy display.

5990 is hefty, both the weight and price. If anyone thinks it is too heavy then dont even consider any AP ROO either.
