Vacation Time

Being that there’s such a diverse group on this forum I’d love to hear about some of the best vacation spots you’ve been. Looking at planning something this year and I’m in need of some inspiration. Also would love to see some of those stunning pictures. Cheers!

I love mountains and forests. Wildlife. Wife and kids like beaches and a lack of wildlife. I just don't like sand anymore.

Aruba is the best. Beautiful weather, great restaurants, fantastic beaches. No language barrier. Arubians are great people.

Sturgis on a Harley. Shopping in Beverly Hills. Hiking the big island of Hawaii. Skiing in Park City. Diving in Maui. Fishing in FL or Western Mexico. Then there’s Europe, Asia, South and Central America, Australia, New Zealand, etc. what do you want to do?

Beautiful photos. Been looking at Italy for awhile now. That country makes you appreciate life a little more.

Cape Town, South Africa.

I’ve been to over 70 countries and the Cape is still one of my favorites. I’ll be going for a third time later this year. Australia is always a great choice as well!

Heading to Russia, Georgia (the country), and Azerbaijan in June.

Sicily! We rented a car from Naples and drove to Sicily via ferry crossing. Then drove around the entire island, stayed at a different city every few days.

So many breathtaking places around the world. But this paradise came to mind: Lençois Maranhenses/MA, Brazil.

From my point of view Japan was a real eye opener... always a dream to go as a kid and when you get there.. the never sleeping neon city like sucks you into its life stream, really cool place to go !

A few of my favourites are Jordan, Sri Lanka, Patagonia, Vietnam.. and plenty more.

As others have said Japan too, although I am living/working here so the novelty has worn off.

Ireland is a very easy trip from your neck of the woods also.

To OP, I say look at visiting the Emirates, Dubai specifically, but also potentially Abu Dhabi. If you like modern architecture Dubai is pretty close to heaven.

If you like something less modern, Barcelona is an amazing, gorgeous city. Gaudi did wonders for the city, and his influence can be felt throughout the whole city.

Third option, fly to Central Europe and rent a car, have a trip around many places. Amsterdam, The Hague, Maastricht, Brussels, Antwerp, Cologne, Luxembourg, Paris. All of those are gorgeous cities, 5-6 hours drive tops.

As a Georgian born and raised in Russia you will not be disappointed. One thing I do have to say is both in Georgia and Russia don't sit around in one city. In Georgia, you should visit Tbilisi, Kakheti and Batumi at the very least IMO. Similarly, in Russia, don't just stay in Moscow, at the very least Saint Petersburg is a must.
