Daytona Grail Attained...Part 2!!!

Hi All

For those that read my original post, here is a reminder of that thread

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=646984

I purchased the white ceramic Daytona in December 2018 from my AD through a sheer amount of persistence & patience, but in the end I got my grail watch!

Fast forward to 3 months later & I get a call from another fairly local AD that I purchased a number of Rolex watches from over 10 years ago to say that my black Daytona had come in. You can bet your bottom dollar that I wanted it & on Saturday I drove to pick it up. And here it is, in all it's glory.

I wanted to get both the black & white ceramic Daytona's but never in my wildest dreams, could I have imaged that I would own both, from an AD & at list price! And all in the space of 3 months! These will never leave my collection! I love them!

I'm wearing the White today as I need to get the Black insured so it's at home, but I love how even though they are the same watch, they each have a completely different look & feel to what you're wearing or doing

Early impressions are that Black is a tad more legible, but it can really depend on what the actual time is at the time to say that for sure.

It sure does. I made sure that with this second AD that I saw them a couple of times, wearing my White Daytona at the time so they could see that I was 100% genuine & sincere about my intentions for the Black Daytona.

Yep. If they see you're just a passionate watch enthusiast it goes a long way. Flipping is a big concern with them.

Massively! Another AD that has treated me really well & not held me to ransom with crazy demands of saying I only had 24 hours to collect the watch. I got the call on Wednesday last week & said I couldn't make it until Saturday & they were absolutely fine with that. The trust has to be mutual.

Congratulations. I’m new to the forum and learning to develop the science of acquiring a Rolex collection. It’s inspiring knowing that persistence and patience around building up a good relationship with AD’s pays off in the end
