Dagger indicieis with baton hands

Hello,

Long time, no post.

I have been eying a 1971 6426 (Oyster Precision) and was wondering if baton hands relly go with a dagger index face. Could it have been manufactured like this or are the hands likely replaced at some point?

Any pointers to information about the combination of hands with indecies of these watches would be fantastic.

Many thanks

I'm curious about this too. My 1966 6694 has dagger indices with alpha hands. It's a lovely combo but I haven't seen another watch exactly like it.

I think for watch dating 1971 and the dagger markers 6426 dial usually has dauphine or alpha hand set instead of baton hand. Can search the honest example so that you can validate it.

Sometimes I feel that these questions about originality miss an important point. Even if the watch was sold that way originally, I would not find it appealing. I much prefer dauphine or alpha hands with dagger/triangular markers.

Indeed, that’s the more common and in many ways more logical/harmonious combination. I was more wondering if Rolex maybe gave the option to choose or even offered the unusual combination.

I understand, but I actually find the combination interesting in this case. To me the dagger markers and baton hands (with pointing tips) creates a tension between an old and more modern look. Maybe that’s just me though :)
