Icon19 2 new 1940 Rads: 1078 and 1144

Panerai’s “year of the Luminor” brings two new watches.... both 1940 Radiomirs. ;-)


Two new “Mediterraneo” LEs, both limited to 288 pieces:

1078: 45 mm, Ti case, 100 m WR, auto P.4000, 3-day....$11,200 (!!!).

1144: 42mm, SS case, 100 m WR, 11.2 mm thick, manual P.1000, 3-day.... $7,900 (!).

I mentioned in the "Do you like blue dials?" thread that I really like the dial on the 1078 and the choice for Ti. Can't understand why they insist on obstructing the awesome micro rotor caliber with those silly waves...

At first glance I like the 1078 and if it didn't have this wavy thing at the back I would've seriously considered it for my next Pam. At 45mm, I would also prefer it to be polished SS case instead of Ti for a dressier look. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait.

Well, except for Bronzos and such, I always look at BNIB PAM as -25% list price. Still not cheap, mind you.
