Personal forgiveness is up to the victim.

Professionally, such behavior is absolutely unforgivable and any professional who acts in such a way should be banned from that profession permanently.

This information is irrelevant.

Friend of mine's grandad nearly blind living at a nursing home. My friend's Dad on one his visits to see his father noticed that the gold Rolex dress watch in the bedside table had morphed into a gold coloured cheapo watch.

Even still, they make pennies on the dollar for what their job is worth and many of them are paycheck to paycheck.
Worth is in the eye of the beholder (as an aside Privates and LCpls in the military that go to combat also make equal/less), medical residents make nearly equal that amount and I don't see them lifting personal valuables off of patients.

The guy that stole that man's Rolex was a dirtbag through and through, his actions are inexcusable.

There are many people in this world that have very little in terms of materials riches but are possessed wealth in character.

A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold.

Tried to edit poor typing, but caught it too late; here's what is should have read above:

It's been so long since this happened I'm not sure anyone will even read this. I am the owner of the watch that was recovered from this individual and it was my father's 1969 Sub. My father ended up passing away that year and if you believe in miracles, it's my belief that he helped the recovery beyond the grave. I was winding it this morning and it made me think of this thread.

In a Covid world, it gives me pause to think about all of the healthcare workers that are doing so much for our sick. It also makes me very thank you for my health and what I have.

Take care :-)

As the OP of this thread I appreciate the follow-up and am very happy to know the watch was recovered. I had a similar miracle.

Condolences for your father. Stay safe.

Very sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the remarkable update! Would love to see photos of the watch, and hear the story on how the watch was recovered.
Most importantly, wear that watch in best health.

Any EMT who takes valuables off patients is not essential, anywhere.

I remembered the news about actor James Gandolfini’s Rolex was stolen by a paramedic when he died in Italy.

I am glad the victim’s son posted his update - also that the watch was recovered and returned to him.

It’s been over 5 years, but I’m sure the loss is still felt deeply. Is a wrist shot out of the question?

Yep...I wonder how his case went. The burglar who snatched my Platona (plus a lot more) got 15 years.

I’m so glad that your dad’s watch was recovered, and sorry for your loss.

When my father passed away, in hospital, a gold chain, and a watch were taken from him. Sadly when I have mentioned this to other people, i am told it’s all too common.
