15202or or Lange

I know its an AP forum, but just wanted to get your opinion on which watch should I get next.. 15202OR or Lange 1815 Chronograph

My current watches: Rolex SD ceramic, IWC Inge 40mm, Portuguese 7 days, Patek 5712R

I love the 15202, and the RG... but that Lange movement.. oh my..

Please share your opinion? and why?

Thanks guys!

Lange movement is a killer but overall prefer the AP, in RG it's a beauty, prefer Nautilus in SS but in RG the AP… and apart the datograph and 5980-1R I am not a big chrono fan, for me the AP wins hands down

Both are nice. Out of the two I'd opt for the 15202 in Rose. If you can extend the budget I'd get the new RG Dato.

I'm voting 15202.

I would be inclined to consider either 5711/1r or RG dato as well!

Lange is much more interesting when off the wrist and AP when on the wrist, I'll go with 15202or.

Very different i prefer the AP in steel and i prefer a datograph over the 1815, my choice would be the 1815 for now

Really different indeed. Lange for me, and I'd prefer a 15202 in steel.

Lange. Although I prefer WG. It's true what was said above about on / off wrist differences...

But overall I think the Lange is in another league movement wise.

Given you’ve both an Ingenieur and a 5712, I don’t think you’ve any further need for a Genta design on the same theme, even if it is the original.
You don’t have a chronograph, anything German, and as nicely finished/looking rear.

Love the front of the AP and back of the Lange. However 5711/1R is also a good choice.

15202. If it were Dato then it would make it a more difficult decision for me.

Hmm, this is a really tough one actually. What do you plan on mostly using this for and what kind of attire?

Lange for me, but it would have to be in wg. I like the 15202 but preferred the 15300 as it has a seconds hand and felt more "alive".

1815 Chrono all the way, the display back is absolutely killer. You will be wearing the watch inside out!!

I'm a huge Royal Oak fan, but that Lange is simply amazing. For me Royal Oak works best in steel, so I'd get the Lange out of those two. Unless you have issues with manually winding the watch every day, or hassling with setting it before you want to wear it. AFAIK all your existing watches are automatics...

AP in RG is an experience in itself. Every company has their slight variations, but AP nailed it. I guess the question is: what side of the watch do you intend to spend more time looking at? Wonderful dilemma to have. Best of luck.

Thanks for all the reply guys. Seems like a close call between the two..

Yes the WG Lange boutique edition is also considered..

15202 is indeed a special watch, given its history, homage to the original royal oak, etc. And I agree that the 15202 in steel is the 'real-deal', but after reading this article:
http://www.revolution.watch/2014/03/...s-yellow-gold/

I just thought that the 15202 in RG would be more special (to me), and less common (at least in this of the world).

At this price point, it is similar to the 1815 Chrono, which has the caliber L951.5 that had me at first sight.

That was the point where it gets confusing

Get the Jumbo. It's stellar. If you want a Lange, get the Dato.

This is a tough choice, but results in a sweet watch either way.

I'd go with the Jumbo.
