Moon shot
I was pushing the rubbish bin last night and saw near full moon shining all over. Here it is 100% crop. I wonder how big it can get with a 500mm lens?

Nice shot...what zoom/mode did you use? Did you use a tripod?

Nice shot! I would like to hear the details of what you were using and the set up.

Sorry guys, I've been away on holidays last week.
The moon shot was on tripod, Nikon D90 with 55-200mm F/4-5.6G VR kit lens. At ISO 200, 1/160s, F/16, -2.0ev on manual mode. Original frame at 4288 x 2848, I cropped it 100% at 1920x1200. My astronomer friend told me to take moon shots only on non-full times because the shadows will reveal a lot more texture of the moon's surface. I think he's quite correct here. |

Bought a 2nd hand "bigma" (Sigma 50-500mm F4.0-6.3) from ebay last week. Tried the cresent moon tonight zoomed at 500mm, much bigger and more mysterious...
