When Did the Tudor Logo Switch from the Rose to the Shield?

Just curious. Any particular reason (e.g. bolder graphics, brand recognition etc.)?

Probably seemed like a good idea at the time, more modern, whatever. Companies can be fairly arbitrary in making marketing decisions. New management comes in and wants to make their mark and such.

The most astounding change in human history was taking the best URL there ever was, buy.com, and changing it to rackadumass.com or whatever they changed it to. Ego, stupidity, hubris, more money than sense, are they still in business? :)

Production of the big rose ended around mid 1959 and was replaced by the small rose logo. Small rose logo was replaced by the shield in late 1968. A few of each surpassed these date as old stock was used up.

I know it’s not the cool collector opinion, but I’ve always got a kick out of the shield logo, and I prefer it to the rose. I mean, this is fantastic!
