Uneven bezel on Sub 16610
Iva had my sub, my first and only Rolex, for 2 weeks now and today just noticed a defect. The bezel between 30 & 40 is raised - it sticks out above the metal section and is just level with the sapphire. Around the rest of the watch it is significantly lower.
This uneven lopsidedness is not good for the overall impression. Rolex should be perfect. Any advice? Don't worry about it, mention at next service, or fix immediately lest it pop out? |

Your bezel insert is coming out of your bezel assembly, don't wear the watch whilst its like this, you stand to lose your bezel insert. You can quite easily snap it back on, but do some research before attempting to do so yourself.

geeze...what is going on with the recent/current production run of Submariners? there's opening threads from posters dsn112 & matbaj all addressing manufacturing/QA issues & now this one.
there seems to be more potential problems arising from these newer Subs than with all of the older ones combined...take this particular commentary with a grain of salt as I have no access to Rolex service records over a 50-60 year timeframe. on the other hand, I've known a number of older Submariner model owners & none have ever experienced this kind of problem or the hassle that comes with it. |

I believe you can just gently and evening apply pleasure to the insert and it will snap back in place. If you choose to do this yourself, do it completely sober and do not force anything as you risk bending the steel insert. There are a few tutorials on how to do this both available through Google and on this forum (several members have changed out steel inserts on their GMTs). Best of luck; keep us updated.

Awesome. I applied my thumb to it directly and hard and it snapped back into place. Symmetry is restored. Thanks all.
