With that consideration, you make an excellent trade

Your reasons for the trade are sound and if you also want a smaller collection then trading and wearing full time is the only way. I have an AP RO too and for sure I have to choose when I wear it for fear of bashing it up. That isn’t the case with most Rolex. However, in most cases an equivalent Rolex is half the retail price of the similar piece in the AP catalogue. Had you bought and traded a WG AP for a WG Rolex it would be a more realistic apple to apple analysis. But I certainly get the comparison you’re making in simple numbers.

Now lets get that TRF signature updated with the new 126619lb

Congrats! Ive always loved that AP. After reading your reasoning however I think you made a fantastic trade. Admittedly at first I wasn’t a huge fan of the LB. After a friend loaned me one a few weeks back I love it. Great watch. Enjoy and congrats!

AP does nothing for me. It is hyper industrial and looks like something cold and without personality designed for a movie set in a dystopian future.

As a product sold as art to those with disposable income, you would think it would miss the mark by a wide margin. They would seem more in line with a promotional giveaway with the Tesla Cyber truck.

You made the right decision.

The APs have appealed to me from time to time but it’s the Sub for me in this instance. Very understated cool

You did well-appreciate AP's but not for me.

If I could get a 126619 for $24k I'd have one on my wrist today.

it's a fair trade in term of price, but the AP is more beautiful

I completely agree with your mindset around this trade. I have owned two different APs and felt the same way about the movement. The LB sub is an excellent trade.

I’ll gladly take gold over steel any day. No joke though, the Cookie Monster is a cool piece

I appreciate everyone's honest feedback! I loved that I had the chance to own the AP... it was a beautiful piece! I could see down the line looking at a Jumbo if the right circumstances happened... but for now I'm loving the heft on my left wrist! PM feels special.

Nice trade! Prefer the the wonderful WG Sub. Aa someone else said, the AP is a bit too industrial for my tastes. Plus the movement is better. Wear it in good health. Cheers!

Yes, indeed an excellent trade! I say this as I´m a die-hard Sub fan, and I´ve never liked the AP, or any other Gerald Genta designs for that matter. Not my cup of tea. Your Sub is a gorgeous watch, do wear it and enjoy it!

Good move.

I sold two OQ because I was always afraid of scratches on the case. Once polished the edges get rounded. That Rolex is beautiful.

Well said. I've wanted to like APs for decades. I've tried them on my wrist. I've been offered a couple from ADs. I know people who wear them regularly .... and I still cannot warm up to them. Way too fussy.

Great trade for a great Sub.

Well done! I did something similar with a 15300 for a 116618LB. Never regretted it.

The AP that retailed for 24 but is worth over 40, traded for a watch that retails for 42 and is worth maybe 30? Confused….

Nobody is paying close to $40 for a 15450 these days
