Prices (or asking ones) are crazy these days. I'll still hold onto my 400 because I love it, but can't blame someone for trying to cash in.

I refuse to believe that it will sell at that price. There are too many other cheaper ones on the market. Avi & Co have a brand new one with box and papers (obviously) for $20,999, and I bet that's even negotiable.

Lets see what happens when the first 15500 blue hits the grey dealers. My bet is ca. $30k asking price. Insanity but these are mad times.

If that's the case, I would do everyone a favor and sell my 15400 blue dial, Jan 19, like new, for just $28K. What a bargain it would be!

It's absolute madness! Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see it all come crumbling down and all the speculators who are only in it to make a quick buck left burned with watches they can't sell for anything near what they bought them for. That's the dream anyway. Will it happen. Probably not any time soon. Maybe never.

That's asking price. Might not be able to sell at USD26K. Probably the seller has to settle for lower than that I guess. Although as a current owner, I will be happy to hear price increase for this model.

Sad thing is we have had these jokes for Rolex and PP for 2 years now and every 6 months the joke is out of date and the watch estimate too cheap.

some of that is retail prices have gone up and discounts have stopped. So its not necessarily as bad (or good depending on your point of view) as it appears.

I got mine around 6 years ago for $10.5k but that was before 2 price increases and cutting dealer margin that raised prices in the secondary market. Then the popularity exploded and they went to a boutique model without discounts and the price continued to go up and up. I would have sold mine by now but it was my wedding watch so it has a permanent spot in my collection. Still pretty good ROI on a watch

Coincidentally he had an identical watch that "sold" on Feb 19 and then this gets listed at 4K more a few days later at the new price with identical description.

I guess the white is that much more in demand now since it is not offered with the 15500?

Among all the dial Color of 15400, I like the white and black the most despite blue dial is the most desirable one. The white is not pure white but rather silvery white Color, it really pops under the light Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Wow! At those prices, I could almost double the price I paid for mine. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I Iove the watch and don't see myself selling anytime soon.

More supply on the secondary market and reduced prices i can see, but massive bargains I doubt very strongly. Massive bargains would only happen if lots of people are forced to sell because they need the cash, typically because they have loans they can’t repay.
The crazy prices pertain only to a small segment of watches, and I doubt they are mainly bought by people who will need to sell them again if a recession hits. Social media has created a huge demand for some specific models, and supply is limited. The bubble might deflate, but I don’t see these watches trading below list prices anytime soon. |

I agreed with this and the price may stabilized and perhaps drop but certainly not massive discount. I purchased the RO because I like the design and wrist presence. I don’t foresee myself to reduce price significantly to get rid of them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Far more people will have bought a Rolex on credit than an AP so if the global market turns PP and AP have a fair bit of protection in the short term.

Generally i think Rolex value also holds up a bit better than AP too and lower price points and more mass market means more potential buyers, so if it was me and i needed to move something i would probably start with the best value retainers first.
