Incoming AP 26331ST Panda

I decided on my first AP after wanting a panda dial, it was a toss up between another Daytona (I already have a Daytona zenith) but, I bought my very first AP, the 26331ST Panda. The craftsmanship and overall finish is superlative and wayyy beyond the attention to detail found on Rolex. I still love my Rolex but this is a step up in overall finish. Bought new from AB Time Inc. NY, excellent experience with this dealer and, a special thanks to Nadiya for her patience and rapid communications.

IMO this is the best buy of the Royal Oak line. Priced around the same as the 15400 on the grey market, AND with a chronograph complication. Congrats!

My favorite ROC. It beats the blue dial version in my eyes due to the contrast. The 26331 is an undervalued steel AP which I expect to appreciate in value soon.

I wasn’t an AP fan and, I am unsure if another AP watch would appeal to me (yet). The leap to another brand can come for many reasons. In my case, as can be seen from my signature, I generally have preferred Rolex. A brief spell into Panerai via the 127 Fiddy, spurred the buying of no less than 8 Panerai, of which I flipped 4 shortly after, keeping only LE pieces and, one beater, the 111. I was looking for a true, lower 2 quadrant 3 subdial chrono, Panda dial with white dial and black chrono dials. The only Rolex was the Daytona (I already have a none panda zenith), the other was the omega speedy tuesday and, finally, I looked at a early 2000s schumacher omega. The two omegas weren’t exclusive enough for me and, omegas don’t usually hold value well. I searched and, really didn’t find anything with the aesthetics, other than the AP. I began the usual research we all do and, became quite intrigued by the integral bracelet design and finish. I went to several local ADs but, they only had blue and black deals, my heart was set on white panda. So, I ordered this one. So maybe I’m with AP because they had the panda dial but, now that I have the watch, it is quite a marvel, the finish is truly a work of art, the dial is sublime with it’s tapiz intricate design. I have never owned a watch so incredibly well designed and meticulously finished as this AP. Therefore, am I an accidental AP convert? Probably yes. Would I have looked at AP had I not been searching a panda dial? Probably not. Am I now happy I did? A resounding YES

Congratulations! How do you like the quality of the caliber and the chronograph actuation? I am interested in the 26315ST.

The chrono is smooth, a little smoother button actuation than my a couple of other chronos I have had (Rolex, Panerai, Tudor). Not sure if its the same movement in the 38mm as the 41mm?

fantastic AP. and the best "value" out there in hot new sport watches in that you can get it close to msrp (among daytona/nautilus/aquanaut/15202)
