I recently purchased a new PAM 537 GMT 42mm. I love this watch!!!! My question to the experts is; is it ok to wind the watch when the lever is in the closed position? Thanks in advanced. Sorry Wrong forum!!!!!Moderator please transfer to the panerai section

Why would you want to wind it with the crown lever closed? There should be a lot of friction from it being cammed down. Open it and wind as directed.
Let’s just say “No” to clarify this idea for other Pam owners.

I don't wind with the lever down but when I purchased the watch the salesperson did so and told me it was ok!

I'm wearing my 359 today and just opened the lever and the crown moves out about 1mm; I've never noticed this before. It wouldn't enter my head to wind mine with the lever closed.

I too have wondered about this. Wouldn't winding the crown while it is compressed down on the seal would destroy the seal in short order?

Just like driving while dragging on the brakes. You can still drive like that, but it will increase wear and tear. and eventually, you will break something. :p
