If it were me with a large claim pending, I'd go to an AD or RSC. About 75 miles from you is Reeds Jewelers in Wilmington NC. Call ahead and set up a day you can come in to have them check it out. Ask for an appraisal and verification. That should get it sorted.
Yes it's 1.5 hours each way, but quicker than RSC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Correct, sounds like the seller knows how to "play" the eBay/PayPal system. Keep going in your claim. eBay will instruct you how to proceed. They'll probably ask for proof from a 3rd party expert, go to a Rolex AD or reputable jeweler now and get it. You'll probably have 5 days from the date of their notice to provide said evidence. I would also use this thread as evidence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I want to see a pic of the movement. Pawn shops are not experts, and with today's fakes it's getting to a point where you have to be extremely well versed in spotting the good fakes. Especially with the movements. Here's one we witnessed the other day on Instagram. I bet this would fool a lot of pawn brokers.
The owner was pretty upset when I informed him his brand new Yacht Master was a fake.

AMAZING thread OP! I appreciate you looking out for others such as myself that are not as knowledgeable as you. Yes, your initial post was deliberate but you were confident and backed it up. I feel bad for the seller. These things do happen. I hope he gets a refund, and all is resolved. We need more people like you looking out for all of us!

It's already been said, but I will say it again. Do not accept the partial refund. Go immediately to a reputable AD or independent watch repair place that has a parts account with Rolex. This is important because it means they know what they are doing. Verify that it is fake. Submit that to eBay/PayPal and get your money back. The fact that this guy immediately offered you a partial refund is a red flag that means he has pulled this before.

Guys I called Kumar. I think i want to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is actually the victim. Though some of the claims he made in this thread were not as accurate. Nonetheless, I think at this point we should advise him as to what he needs to do to get his money back. Apparently the guy he bought it from bought this watch at an auction...and I'm sure that seller also has another story lines up.
So Kumar, as others have advised you, invest some time and money and get this watch properly inspected at an authorized Rolex dealer not some pawn shop. Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk |

However, it's probably a good idea to clear up the facts regarding the other 116610 you listed/sold previously, here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/272035119614 and here: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/rol...9-2166266.html Getting duped once on a fake is understandable. Unknowingly buying and selling two fakes of the same model is a little bit harder to comprehend/believe. |

Actually @freefly, the one posted on eBay looks more gen to me. Besides couple of minor issues, I would say that one is gen or a franken.

Contact eBay/PayPal (if you used PayPal) and let hem deal with it. Watch does not need to be sent to Rolex NY, simply taking it to any Rolex AD should be enough. You're going to need the possession of the watch in case eBay/PayPal ask for it to be returned or sent to them. Like I said in an earlier post I truly believe you are a victim fraud, I hope you get things sorted. |

From the pics the rehaut looks fine. It's Rolex's new matrix rehaut. Clasp seems ok. Though the bent arm is very unlike Rolex

Kumar take the advice given and even if it costs you a couple of hundred to get it checked out it will be a small price to pay rather then knowing you spent thousands for a $100 knockoff. put the small price down to a life lesson... good luck mate and keep us posted on the outcome.... also on a personal note from watching this thread i can say im one of the biggest skeptics on 2 legs but i like to know ive given someone the full "benefit of the doubt" before assembling the lynch mob.... i think a couple of you need to go back and look at your comments and reflect that(Wesley Crusher.. respect to you sir takes a big man )

* Surface itself looks more dull than normal (which is common in HQ fakes). * Hard to tell if it's single or double line engraving. * "O's" look a bit more round (or less oval) than normal. * Serifs on the "L's" and "E's" look a bit mushy. They should be very defined/square. However, regarding the clasp: No way a gen clasp left the factory like that. Just my $0.02 of course... |

Take a look at post 80 and the pic I shared. It is a genuine clasp on a 116610 and has the same bent arm. I'm not being critical of Rolex but some of the fit and finish issues being noted about the clasp is cropping up regularly in genuine articles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can I ask what karanrolex got banned for?
Maybe I'm missing something, or he did something behind the scenes that we can't see, but it looks to me like he's a victim here too. A lot of experienced members have posted that they couldn't tell it was a fake from the photos, so IMHO it's not that huge a leap to think he'd just hoped to make a few bucks by flipping a couple of watches he thought he'd got at bargain prices. |

Long story, short, the OP found something questionable and acted upon his beliefs.
The seller may have the benefit of the doubt until all plausible circumstances are reviewed. The Mods did their job and so did all the members who chimed in with opinions. None of us is as smart as all of us...and that's the beauty of TRF. I admit that I couldn't tell upon initial inspection of the original photos that the item was fake - which is why I made post #2. The OP later provided the detailed issues. Others tracked down prior instances and the Mods acted. That's why things ended the way they did. Lesson to all (which prolly doesn't need repeating) - buy the seller first! I just did a nice deal with a trusted seller for an 1803 and it only took 2 pics to decide. That's because he is a trusted seller - and that's who you need to deal with - trusted sellers!

just read all of this ,,, a very informative , yet scary thread.
op well done for the spotting , mods as ever , an excellent job. and Pauls quote should be the banner for the site. These are scary times , i can see very soon a letter of authentication from an ad being needed for sales to be painless. I for one have certainly gained knowledge from this. Even the partial refund information may just save some one else along the way. |

Agree on that. I had no idea that could be used to potentially scam like that. Even someone offering something like that sounded shady but no idea it could be used to not have to refund the rest of the purchase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
