15202or
Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is well. I am yet to buy my first AP, I registered interest in the 15500ST blue dial 7 months back in London and 9 months ago in Dubai. The itch is getting worse and I'm falling in love with full gold watches recently and more precisely the 15202OR Blue dial. I plan to go this weekend and register my interest at the boutique, however I would like to get a feeling from you guys about the general availability of this watch? Thanks. |

If they let you buy the 15202OR, it will be much easier to get the 15500ST Blue then, lol

The rose jumbo has been discontinued, as of last year I believe. One of the last ones made was distributed to a boutique a few months ago.

Haven't seen one in person but heard it's beautiful and hard to get before it was discontinued.

When I purchased my 15500OR in March from AD, my SA told me that 15202OR is one of the hardest to acquire. If you can find one at the boutique, better get it right away. This one has high premium in the grey market. |

Can't trust the "current collection" these days! Also, is there even a Jumbo still in production other than the damn blue dial one? What's the point, AP?! (Hmm, I guess I'm having a rough day, because wow I'm harsh right now. ) |

Beautiful watch. I have had the pleasure of trying on a 41 RO SS and 15202OR next ot each other and the rose gold changes the dynamic of the Jumbo which I'm not a huge fan of in SS mostly due to the fragility. I have also tried the YG version (BA?) and its very yellow but also nice. The Jumbo Gold pieces feel more like bracelets rather than watches, they are thin but heavy giving it a special feeling.

Dollar is going down, the gold price is going high now. If you like rose gold bracelet, better get it now before the price increase again next year.

Bought my first 15202OR at the AD with a hefty discount in 2016, that time it wasn't as readily available like a 15400 but it was on display. Sold it for 10k more what I paid for 2 years later and thought I was winning. A year later I miss it so much I bought another one brand new in 2019 at a grey dealer for more than retail.....now its a near 70k watch....
Why? Because more demand + reducing product + discontinued Also want to point out something, the early post 40th anniversary 15202 and the new one is different to the current ones. Dial, bracelet, case etc, not sure which one I like more... Attached is a 2015 vs 2019

Is there anyone that actually knows this for sure? I've never seen a situation like this where a watch is discontinued already but still no one knows for sure not even the boutiques. |

It really depends on year. There are a lot of talk about the steel variations, but I did mention some gold differences in this thread. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=633694
Major differences between the early one to the new ones are different inner clasp design, thicker bracelet, dial is more shiny than matte (more similar to the 15400 and over dials), different lower case design, etc.

I'm told by my boutique that the 15202OR is NOT discontinued, though production is very low.
